Description

A quick and comforting dish featuring ziti pasta in a creamy, garlic-infused spinach sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp parsley
  • 1/2 tsp mustard powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 5 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, freshly minced
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 3 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan
  • 1 1/2 cups spinach
  • 1/2 lb ziti, cooked al dente

Instructions

  1. Begin by cooking your ziti according to package instructions. Make sure to boil it al dente.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Stir in the flour and cook for another minute to form a roux.
  4. Gradually pour in the chicken broth while whisking, ensuring there are no lumps. Let it simmer for a few minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Lower the heat and mix in the half and half, lemon juice, Parmesan cheese, and all the spices. Stir until smooth.
  6. Add the spinach, allowing it to wilt quickly, then fold in your cooked ziti, ensuring it’s fully coated in the sauce.
  7. Let everything warm through for an additional minute, then serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, drizzle with truffle oil before serving. Use gluten-free pasta to accommodate dietary needs.
