Description
Rich and chewy cookie bars filled with gooey caramel and chocolate chips, topped with a sprinkle of sea salt.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- Sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
- Cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until smooth and well combined.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, blending until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Spread half of the cookie dough evenly in the prepared baking pan.
- Drizzle a generous layer of caramel sauce over the cookie dough.
- Spread the remaining cookie dough on top of the caramel layer.
- Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over the top before baking.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool completely in the pan, then cut into squares and enjoy!
Notes
Store in an airtight container; they will last about a week. For longer storage, freeze individual squares. Microwave for 10-15 seconds to enjoy warm.
