Description

An indulgent dessert featuring a creamy chocolate filling and a chocolate crust, topped with fresh whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 chocolate pie crust
  • 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup whipped cream for topping
  • 1 tsp cocoa powder for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: If you’re using a pre-baked pie crust, there’s no need to preheat. Just make sure it’s ready to go!
  2. Heat the Cream: In a saucepan, warm the heavy cream over medium heat until it just starts to simmer.
  3. Melt the Chocolate: Remove the pan from heat and add the chopped dark chocolate. Stir until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted.
  4. Combine Sweetness: Mix in the sugar and vanilla extract until fully incorporated into the ganache.
  5. Cream Cheese Integration: In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually mix in the chocolate ganache, ensuring it’s well combined.
  6. Fill the Crust: Pour the chocolate mixture into your prepared chocolate pie crust. Spread it out evenly with a spatula.
  7. Chill to Set: Cover and refrigerate the pie for at least 240 minutes, allowing it to firm up.
  8. Garnish Before Serving: Before serving, top the pie with whipped cream and dust with cocoa powder for a nice finishing touch.

Notes

For best flavor, use high-quality dark chocolate. Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
