Description
A refreshing mango iced tea perfect for summer afternoons, combining sweet mango and rich black tea.
Ingredients
- 2 Black Tea Bags (or 2 tsp loose leaf tea)
- 1 Ripe Mango (or frozen mango cubes)
- 4 cups Water (divided)
- 2 tbsp Honey
- Ice
Instructions
- Combine 2 cups of boiled water and the tea bags in a large pitcher. Let them steep for about 10 minutes.
- Heat the remaining 2 cups of water along with the diced mango in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Lower the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, mashing the mango to create a smooth puree.
- Strain the mango mixture into the pitcher with the steeped tea, discarding the solids.
- Add honey to the mix and stir well to combine everything.
- Allow the tea to cool and then serve it over ice, garnished with fresh mango slices.
Notes
For variations, consider adding a splash of lime juice for tang or mint leaves for an herbal twist. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
