Delicious and comforting turkey meatballs smothered in a rich Parmesan cream sauce, perfect for low-carb diets.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic (freshly minced)
- 2 teaspoons parsley (chopped, fresh or dried)
- 1 3/4 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese (shredded from the block)
- 1 teaspoon salt (for the sauce)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (for the sauce)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to the broil setting.
- Combine the ground turkey with the egg, salt, black pepper, minced garlic, and parsley in a mixing bowl.
- Form meatballs about the size of a quarter, ensuring they are thick enough to remain tender after cooking.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat, add a little oil, and cook the meatballs until golden brown on all sides.
- Remove the meatballs from the skillet and drain any excess grease.
- Add heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, additional salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir and let simmer until the cheese melts.
- Return the meatballs to the sauce, ensuring they are well coated.
- Place the skillet in the oven and broil until tops are slightly browned, approximately 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with parsley and Parmesan, and serve.
Notes
For a lighter version, serve over zoodles or spaghetti squash. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
