Description

A fluffy, moist cinnamon bread with a sweet sugar crust and buttery cinnamon swirls, perfect for breakfast or as a snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup softened butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Stir until mixed well.
  3. Whisk together the milk, applesauce, vegetable oil, and eggs in a separate bowl until fully blended.
  4. Fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients just until combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
  5. Combine the ground cinnamon and softened butter in a small bowl to create a smooth cinnamon swirl mixture.
  6. Pour half of your batter into the greased loaf pan. Then dollop half of the cinnamon butter mixture over the batter.
  7. Pour the remaining batter on top, followed by the rest of the cinnamon butter. Use a knife to swirl the mixtures together.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

Great served warm with cream cheese or butter. You can also store it in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
