Description

A delightful bowl of Ham & Cheese Macaroni Salad, perfect for summer picnics or quick dinners, featuring elbow macaroni, savory ham, and creamy cheddar in a tangy dressing.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 1 cup cooked ham, diced
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, cubed
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup celery, diced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, diced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the elbow macaroni: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the elbow macaroni according to the package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and rinse under cold water.
  2. Combine main ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained macaroni, diced ham, and cubed cheddar cheese.
  3. Prepare the dressing: In a separate bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, diced celery, and diced red onion.
  4. Mix it together: Pour the dressing over the macaroni mixture and stir until everything is well coated.
  5. Season to taste: Add salt and pepper to taste and adjust as necessary.
  6. Chill before serving: Cover the bowl and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Notes

Cook the pasta al dente and chill the salad for better flavor.
