Description

A comforting skillet dish featuring ground turkey and butternut squash, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 medium butternut squash, peeled and diced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the ground turkey, cooking until it’s browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Stir in the diced butternut squash, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  6. Cover the skillet and cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally until the squash is tender.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

Ensure the butternut squash is cut into uniform pieces for even cooking. The turkey should be golden brown, and the squash should be tender but not mushy.
