Description

A comforting and quick side dish featuring crispy bacon and tender cabbage, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
  • 4 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Fry the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy, stirring frequently for even cooking.
  2. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set it aside, leaving the drippings in the pan.
  3. Add the sliced onion to the skillet and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  5. Add the chopped cabbage, stirring occasionally, and cook until wilted and tender, about 10-15 minutes.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Return the cooked bacon to the skillet, mix everything well, and serve hot.

Notes

Consider using turkey bacon for a healthier alternative. Fresh cabbage ensures the best flavor and texture.
