Description

A creamy, cheesy casserole featuring French onion flavors, perfect for family dinners or potlucks.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds frozen hash browns
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup French fried onions
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Mix together the frozen hash browns, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, shredded cheddar cheese, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a large bowl until well combined.
  3. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly with a spatula.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, allowing the casserole to bubble and heat through.
  5. Remove from the oven and give it a good stir to mix the layers.
  6. Top with French fried onions evenly across the surface.
  7. Return to the oven and bake for another 15 to 20 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and crispy.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy the incredible contrast of creamy and crunchy textures!

Notes

For a tangy twist, Greek yogurt can replace sour cream. You can also experiment with different types of cheese, such as Monterey Jack.
