Description

A timeless comfort dish that’s easy to prepare and deeply satisfying, perfect for family gatherings or cozy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1/2 cup bell pepper, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, milk, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix everything until it’s well combined, ensuring no dry pockets remain.
  3. Transfer the meat mixture into a greased loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf.
  4. If desired, spread a layer of ketchup over the top for added flavor.
  5. Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving to allow the juices to redistribute.

Notes

Choose lean ground beef for a less greasy dish. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
