A warm, gooey giant chocolate chip cookie baked in a skillet, perfect for sharing and indulging.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine the melted butter with both sugars in a large mixing bowl and mix until smooth.
- Beat in the egg and stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Pour the cookie dough into a greased cast-iron skillet and spread it evenly with a spatula.
- Bake for about 20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is slightly soft.
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serve warm.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, use plant-based butter. Consider adding nuts or a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking.
