Description

A delightful fusion of creamy macaroni and tender brisket, perfect for gatherings or a comforting meal at home.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Macaroni Pasta
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 2 cups Cooked Brisket (shredded)
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 1/4 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup BBQ Sauce
  • 1 cup Fried Onion Strings
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni: Follow the package instructions to cook the macaroni until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Make the cheese sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until it turns lightly golden, creating a roux.
  3. Add milk: Gradually pour in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and becomes smooth.
  4. Melt in the cheeses: Add the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese to the sauce, stirring until melted. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Combine pasta and sauce: Fold the cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce, mixing until well coated.
  6. Layer the ingredients: Transfer the macaroni and cheese mixture to a baking dish. Top it with the shredded brisket, drizzle with BBQ sauce, and sprinkle the fried onion strings on top.
  7. Bake: Place in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Serve: Take it out of the oven, let it cool for a moment, then serve hot. Enjoy the delightful blend of flavors!

Notes

For a creamier texture, consider using a blend of cheeses like Gruyère or Parmesan. You can swap half of the macaroni for steamed cauliflower for a lighter dish. Fried onion strings add a crunch, but can be omitted for classic mac and cheese.
