Description

A comforting yet sophisticated dish featuring cod fillets topped with a buttery, crispy breadcrumb layer.

Ingredients

  • 4 cod fillets
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Once melted, stir in lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Arrange the cod fillets in a baking dish, ensuring they are laid out flat.
  4. Pour the butter mixture evenly over the cod fillets, ensuring each piece is well coated.
  5. Sprinkle breadcrumbs evenly on top of the cod fillets, creating a nice layer.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and the breadcrumbs are golden brown.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving for a fresh touch.

Notes

For a crispier topping, broil the cod for the last 2-3 minutes of cooking. Adjust seasoning to your taste.
