Description

Delightful black bean brownies that deliver rich chocolate flavor while being a healthier dessert option.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup or honey
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup nuts or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Combine the rinsed black beans, cocoa powder, maple syrup (or honey), eggs, vanilla extract, baking powder, and salt in a food processor. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. If desired, fold in nuts or chocolate chips for added texture.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  6. Let your brownies cool for at least 10 minutes in the pan before slicing them into squares. Enjoy the fragrant aroma filling your kitchen as they cool.

Notes

Substitution Ideas: Honey works well in place of maple syrup. Use coconut oil instead of butter for a dairy-free option. Ensure black beans are well-rinsed, and fresh ingredients yield the best results.
