Description

Indulge in the rich, molten chocolate of these Air Fryer Lava Cakes, perfect for date nights or satisfying late-night cravings.

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces chocolate (pieces)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 large egg white
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon confectioner’s sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare two 6-ounce ramekins by lightly coating them with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
  2. Combine the butter and chocolate pieces in a medium microwave-safe bowl.
  3. Melt the mixture in the microwave for 60-90 seconds, stirring every 30 seconds until fully combined and smooth.
  4. Whisk the egg white, whole eggs, and granulated sugar in a separate bowl until frothy and light.
  5. Pour the egg mixture into the melted chocolate and butter blend, mixing gently to combine.
  6. Fold in the flour with a spatula until just incorporated, being careful not to overmix.
  7. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared ramekins.
  8. Cook in the air fryer at 370°F for 8-10 minutes, monitoring closely to avoid overcooking.
  9. Cool the ramekins for about a minute and then invert onto serving plates.

Notes

Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor. A pinch of sea salt enhances the chocolate flavor, and serving with vanilla ice cream creates a delightful contrast.
