Description

Festive monster cookies loaded with chocolate chips and colorful M&M’s, perfect for celebrating the 4th of July.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, browned
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup oats
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup M&M’s or other colorful candies


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, brown the butter over medium heat. Let it cool slightly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the browned butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  6. Stir in the oats, chocolate chips, and M&M’s until evenly distributed.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden and the centers are set.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Keep an eye on your cookies while they bake; every oven is different. For a chewier cookie, remove them from the oven while still soft.
